My lady and I have been preparing for a garage sale the past few nights. Tonight I found something I haven't seen for at least the past 8 years. I can't even fathom how many hours I spent playing this during my freshman year (as opposed to actually, you know, studying). Needless to say, this is not going out to the garage sale. One thing I had forgotten about: the sheer magnitude of the original PlayStation game cases. Look at it, that thing is huge. But this was back in 1995, before the days of The Pirate Bay and BitTorrent, so when someone wanted to steal a game, they literally had to stuff it down their pants and walk away with it. This case was the height of anti-theft technology. More pics for perspective:

Side note: I strongly recommend the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It's a great summer beer for a hot day. American Pale Wheat Ale with hints of orange zest and coriander.

This made me nostalgic for my other old game systems. Luckily I still have an un-yellowed SNES that is used pretty much daily by my 7-year old. It warms my heart that even in 2013, he knows how to use the Hookshot in A Link to the Past, what it means when an NBA star is "On Fire", how to perform a dragon punch (Shoryuken!), and which character first coined the phrase "Do A Barrel Roll!". Yup, he's hip beyond his years. We've also played the single greatest and single worst NBA-star themed games ever, back to back.

The best? Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball

Kinja'd!!!

The worst? ShaqFu. Has there ever been a game worse than ShaqFu?

Kinja'd!!!

These will also not be in the garage sale. This T-Pain Microphone, however, will be.

Kinja'd!!!

I really need to start spending my money more wisely.

Ah, nostalgia. Back in college, several people used to play Raiden in class. When lectures got boring, I'd rock the old-school DOS Duke Nukem side-scrolling game. One time, the teacher caught me, and asked if I'd stop. I said, "But I got the high score!" And he said, "Well, carry on then." Good times. :)
